The chapter and its president send thanks to Victor Alverez, CC for the demonstration on Risotto at the April Meeting. The VFW has given us a space where cooking can be part of each meeting. This is what an ACF get together should be about.
Chef Don and his task force of former chapter chef's of the year are working on some changes to the way in which we select our chapter's most prestigious award. The obtainable goals will be about as they are now. The timing will change as will the selection process. A first reading of the changes will happen at the May meeting. Discussion will be allowed. The seconding reading and a vote will happen at the June meeting. I think the problem of electing a new chef of the year almost immediately after awarding it to the current Chef is confusing and has needed to be addressed. The report of the task force will do this.
The offer to split hotel expenses at the National Convention in Philadelphia is still on the table.
By the time you read this the first deadline for registration to the National Convention will have passed.
We are still looking for a member to step forward and act as chef d' cuisine for the next VFW fundraising dinner.
The May meeting will for the second consecutive time be a pot luck dinner. This is an opportunity for you to shine for your fellow members. It is a time to invite spouses, friends, children, co-workers, the chef down the street or your boss to attend a meeting. The club will supply beverages so bring a dish and a friend and join us Monday May 22 at 6:30 at the VFW.

I hope that that helps. But I would like to see the best Chefs in Rochester do their best to impress. So don't use the 1-800 Pizza number.
See you there
Paul
