Hello Members !
In this months message, I would like to start off by reviewing where we are at the first quarter mark. Here are some of the things that our board has achieved in the first three months:
* Brought all of the chapter bills up to date
* Create a new member package to be given out upon a new person joining our chapter
* Create a new scholarship application
* Reach out to sister organizations, such as the Rochester chapter of the NYSRA and the Hospitality Task Force
* Address and solve the issues concerning our newsletter
* Keep the chapter meeting interesting, fun and educational
* Create a new fundraiser for our chapter (I.e. the "Harley Raffle", thank you Chef Vasile)
We have several other things in the works and will unveil them as we progress. We are currently looking at bids for the Chef of the Year dinner, which this year will be held in Chef Michael Redmond's (CEC) honor. If you and your facility would like to host the dinner, get your bid in by the chapter meeting in May. May is not as far away as you might think..........and for those of you at club's, golf is just around the corner! (How exciting!)
Speaking of golf, our outing will be held at Blue Heron Hills Country Club again this year and we would like for it to sell out. Invitations and early reminder cards are in the works and will be presented at the next chapter meeting for everyone to look at. The mailing for the invitations is set for the Monday before Memorial Day. This year we have the added incentive of the bike ticket, so use that as a selling point for the outing if someone should ask you about it.
I would like to remind everyone who has bike tickets sold to come to the meeting and turn in your stubs and money. It is important that we keep track of sales for the incentive program as well as reach our benchmark for the bike. Sell a lot of tickets! Nice weather coming should help boost sales a bit.
I would also like to ask everyone to bring someone new to a meeting. Since we have lowered the dues we have made it more affordable to join. The flip side of that is we lowered the revenue stream and this affects our inlowing revenues. The best thing we can do is to GET SOME NEW MEMBERS!!!!!!!
So bring someone along and let them see what we are all about! Enjoy this month's submission from Jon Beeaker and his culinary and cultural tour of South East Asia.
