Hello to all
I hope everyone survived out latest history making ice storm. Congratulations also to the Syracuse Orangemen on winning the National title. Hopefully everyone had power so they could watch the game.
This months newsletter is the first one to be published By Dave and Kathy. It will have somewhat of a "new look" to it along with different content. We are selling ad space to help generate revenue to offset the cost of producing it. Our goal is to improve upon the old letter, so if you have any constructive criticisms please share them with us so that we may continue to get better.
Our next chapter meeting will be held on April 29 at the Party House on Beehan road. Since the last meeting, we have been "kicked out" of Valley Manor. This information came as a shock to me as I had just finished re negotiating our deal with them and thought we had made an agreement. I did not get a solid reason from Cheryl Smith, the Food and Beverage director of the operation, but rather some, what I feel to be made up excuses. In short, the person who sets the room up for the meeting on the next day was not able to do so in 11/2 hrs. for a coffee service for 24 people. I told her that it sounded to me like the issue was not with us but with her staff and offered to re set the room after we finished our meeting. She said no and I reluctantly agreed with her request.
So.......
We will be meeting at the Party House for the rest of this year thanks to Chef Bruce Emmerson and the owners, they are graciously welcoming us. I believe that this place will serve us more adequately and I would just as soon spend the chapter's money at a members facility anyway.
In closing I would like to request that anyone who has tickets for the bike raffle to be at the next meeting TO TURN THEM IN !!!!!!!!!! It is vitally important that we do this NOW as we need to gage our progress. Don't forget, we need to sell 371 tickets to pay for the bike. That is our minimum goal. With the weather finally breaking (I hope) thought will soon turn to warm weather and motorcycle riding. A good selling point is that whoever wins this bike, WILL BE RIDING IT THIS SUMMER !!!!!! So go sell tickets, put up a poster at the bar at work, have the bartender help you sell them, get creative !!!!!!
I will see all of you on the 29th at the Party House on Beehan road at 7:30 pm. Be sure to thank chef Bruce Emmerson for helping us out when you see him.
Chef Sam
