Happy late winter/early spring to all of you!
With all of the snow mostly gone and the mud of spring showing, ones thoughts begin to turn to golf …..
This year we will be holding our annual outing at Brook Lea C.C. and returning to the original format. This means that you get to showcase your establishment and your talents at the awards portion of the event that will feature a great raffle. The event will be held August 30, 2004. As most of you know, we are now the proud owners of a Harley Davidson Soft Tail, an ATV, and a travel certificate worth $1,000. Chef Vasile is working his magic again this year and the raffle promises to be better than ever. With a reduced ticket price and more prizes I am confident we will be more successful than ever. Come to the meeting on March 30 after the Palmer's food show (which we need volunteers for, as we have a booth at the show if you are interested email me at sferreri@rochester.rr.com by 3/24/04) and get your tickets and posters for this years bike raffle.
Please take the time to review the COTY changes published in the newsletter. It is important that all are familiar with these changes as we will be voting on them. We also are accepting bids for the COTY dinner in honor of Chef Paul Healy, CEC, and AAC. If you and your establishment are interested, contact the COTY committee chair, who is Michael Redmond. If you have questions about how to out together a bid, Chefs Lisa Cunliffe, CEC, Greg Christo, CEC, Mike Vasile, AAC, and Bruce Emmerson, CEC were the masterminds behind last years menu and I am sure they would be glad to answer any questions you might have.
I would like to shout out props to Chef Joshua Distenfeld of the Clarion Riverside Hotel for recently achieving the level of Certified Executive Chef. The next time you run into Josh, give him a pat on the back and an atta'boy. Great job Josh…we are all proud of you!
In closing I would like to mention two things:
One- We will be having our April meeting at LiDestri foods in Fairport; details to follow….
Two- Bring someone new with you to the next meeting.
See you at 6:30 on the 30th!
Chef Sam
